Josh and Nichole Renschler and their children: Jaden (11), Joel (8), Lilly (5), Lydia 2)
Josh Renschler is a medically retired Sergeant from the US Army. While serving in Iraq 2003-2004, he was severely injured during a mortar attack. Josh now volunteers his time working with both Active-Duty servicemen and veterans through a non-profit faith-based organization called PTSD Foundation of America; which assists Servicemembers, Veterans and their families who struggle with deployment related trauma. He volunteers his time with Wounded Warrior Project as a Peer-Mentor as well. As an advocate for veterans, Josh has often been called to testify in Washington DC.
Nichole Renschler has always enjoyed working with children. Right out of high school she began working in a nursery at a child day care center here in Washington. Nichole left her career in the child care field to become a full-time caregiver for Josh during his recovery, not to mention being a full-time mother of 4. She now volunteers her free time to assist in the ministry with other military wives, through the PTSD Foundation of America. Nichole also helps Josh organize outreach events for military families and veterans, and leads outreach groups both solo, and with others.
